Brooklyn Museum’s Raw/Cooked Series by Marela Zacarias
Gowanus-based artist Marela Zacarias sculptures melt into the inside architecture at the Brooklyn Museum. Four site-specific works that were inspired by the Williamsburg Murals (art that was commissioned for public housing), explore the concept of bouncing back from adversity.

Sometimes you just got to dance
We found this somewhere on the interwebs… it’s a video called Under One: Amanda. 2nd Avenue. Brooklyn, NY which, shows a woman (who we believe is Amanda Hinchey or one of her crew) performing a lovely modern dance in front of an industrial building on 2nd Avenue. Although we don’t know the context of this piece, it made us smile. And after Friday’s event, we all deserve a smile.
